Under makeup is not the same as over makeup
A sunscreen that sits comfortably beneath foundation may behave differently when applied several hours later on top of that foundation. Claims about a primer-like finish do not establish that reapplication will preserve blush, concealer or powder unchanged.
The practical goal is to renew sunscreen coverage while accepting that makeup may need adjustment afterward. Avoid treating an untouched cosmetic finish as evidence that enough sunscreen reached the skin.
Test the combination before a busy day
Use your usual morning products and assess a later sunscreen application when you have time to correct the makeup. Notice whether the problem is dragging, visible residue or uneven coverage. A product that works on bare skin may not suit the same application method over a layered base.
Do not dilute sunscreen into foundation or moisturizer to change its texture. If a combination repeatedly pills, reconsider the combination rather than relying on a smaller sunscreen amount. No ingredient list can guarantee compatibility with every foundation.
Understand what a stick requires

A lotion or another labeled format may be more manageable for you. There is no need to keep a stick in a routine that makes thorough application difficult.
Account for the conditions outside

Bring the product somewhere it will remain accessible and suitably stored. A compact makeup bag is useful for organization, but it does not protect its contents from excessive heat by itself.
Judge the result by the right standard
Look for missed areas as well as cosmetic disruption. Include exposed skin beyond the central face, and avoid direct eye contact. When your plans make reapplication difficult, arrange a suitable break and use shade or protective clothing where practical. A less elaborate makeup look can be an acceptable trade-off for a routine you can carry out properly.
